McKell Elementary School (MES) is located in the rolling hills of Northeastern Kentucky along U.S. 23 in South Shore, Kentucky.  It  has a school population of approximately 487 students and  has a faculty and staff of sixty-three.  MES houses fifteen Primary Level  (P1's-P4's) classrooms, six intermediate (Grades 4-5) classrooms, one FMD classroom, two Special Education units, a Family Resource Center, art and music classrooms, library media center and two Speech classrooms.  MES is one of seven schools which makes up the Greenup County School System.
