Now at McKell Middle, we have Caring Mailboxes placed throughout the school. Students are able to place notecards in them which have pre-printed cards stating what they or a friend may need. Each day a trusted adult will pull the cards and give them to the selected adults in which the cards are addressed to.



In Mrs. Caudill’s Digital Creations class students have been hard at work coding and working on some amazing personalized work! Check out these awesome items!










Did someone say pickles??
This week our Agriculture class learned how to make pickles. Our kitchen staff paired up with the students and showed them the process! The kids sliced, diced and chopped. Best part?? The students at MMS will enjoy these handmade pickles with lunch next week!

Mrs. Fraley’s science classes completed an activity showing their understanding of rock layers. They studied how geologists determine the relative and absolute ages of rocks, and how geologic events can affect those layers.








All in for Ag!
Students in Mrs Wright’s class worked in pairs to create comic strips to demonstrate the changes that occurred as people went from hunters and gathers to farmers.

Parents/Guardians as you swing by to drop off your students, grab a coffee and help support the school.

Students in Mrs. Markins’ classes stepped back in time to create their own colonies in the early 1600s. They determined their colony’s name, region, crops, supplies, careers of settlers, and what they would do in order to make their colony survive!

What an AMAZING visit from the Commisoner of Agriculture Jonathan Shell and the President of Kentucy Farm Bureau Eddie Melton. Our students loved showing off all of their hard work!

Mr. Pack had his 8th grade classes research and create Ag posters to show and celebrate the great land of Greenup County! We might have future real estate agents, tourist committee members and graphic artists.
