6th Grade Scientists are bringing home a bouncy ball that they made in science class!
Linda Heineman from Greenup County Extension Office and Lisa Osborne from Greenup County Farm Bureau helped Mrs. Cattell with a lab. The students used some natural resources (from corn) and created a polymer- a bouncy ball! It was so much fun! …and a special thanks to Mrs. Webster for helping out with the afternoon classes! 🖤💛

In Mrs. Fraley’s CTE class students not only learned human anatomy but they also had a side gig raising Monarch Butterflies. They were even lucky enough to find a Monarch egg so they were able to watch it through every stage of development. Students tagged and released each butterfly and will submit their info to Monarch Watch. If anyone finds the tagged butterfly they can report it to us so we can see how far our butterflies traveled. Hopefully it makes it all the way to Mexico!

Eighth grade science Eighth grade science students are wrapping up a unit on the history of the earth. During this unit students completed a diorama of the Mesozoic Era and a puzzle of the geologic time scale. They completed these in their extra time earned away from text lessons. Special thanks to Kadence Wheeler and her contribution of a volcano made from clay to add to the diorama.

Mrs. Fraley’s Human Anatomy CTE course completed studies of human body systems throughout the nine weeks. As a culminating activity for the term students dissected fetal pig specimens. They did an excellent job and were able to correctly identify body parts for their grade. Students were surprised to find out they didn’t have a smell
