Mrs. Fraleys science students are wrapping up a unit on human impacts of the earth. Today they simulated the effects of mining on earth habitats and organisms. They used toothpicks as their mining tool to extract their ore (chocolate chips) from their mining site (cookie). Then they had to complete an analysis form to describe exactly what habitats, water sources, and organisms were affected. Extra cookies were enjoyed after their studies.
