
WILDCAT OF THE WEEK
Mr. Scott Bowling shares that Ava is just awesome! She is always prepared and participating in science class. She is also currently working very hard on her science fair project, testing the effects of background noise on a person's ability to concentrate.

CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION STUDENTS OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Dornon shares that these two students have become leaders in Health Science class. She notes that they caught on quickly to the athletic training and to the proper process for taping an injured wrist. They then became teachers and helped other students learn how to properly tape wrists.
We are so proud of these Wildcats!



EIGHTH-GRADE SPOTLIGHT: JOSIE GEYER
We're excited to continue recognizing our eighth-grade students throughout the month of May!
Mrs. Bobbi Brumfield shares that Josie is an exceptional Wurtland Middle School student whose passion and talent for creative writing sets her apart from her peers. This year, Josie has started drafting her own fictional stories with the first few chapters completed. Keep writing, Josie!

EIGHTH-GRADE SPOTLIGHT: MIRABELLA WHITEHEAD
We're excited to continue recognizing our eighth-grade students throughout the month of May!
Mrs. Bobbi Brumfield shares that Mirabella is an eighth-grade student who brings both talent and energy to the Wurtland Middle School orchestra. She has a great sense of humor and a lively spirit!

EIGHTH-GRADE SPOTLIGHT: TAYLOR PHILLIPS
We're excited to continue recognizing our eighth-grade students throughout the month of May!
Ms. Katie Williams shares that Taylor has such a sweet spirit and is a well-rounded student. In EdRising, she is always so patient and kind with our little friends at Wurtland Elementary School. She has been the perfect helper for some of our most energetic little ones, and they have requested her by name. She has a great attitude and is willing to do anything asked of her. Ms. Williams adds that she knows that Taylor did a great job in Cats' Creations and was a first place winner at the Entrepreneurial Fair at Morehead State University. Additionally, she is a hardworking Greenup County Cheerleader. Ms. Williams shares that she is so glad Taylor joined us at Wurtland Middle School!

EIGHTH-GRADE SPOTLIGHT: EMILEE HOLSTON
We're excited to continue recognizing our eighth-grade students throughout the month of May!
Mrs. Bobbi Brumfield shares that Emilee has grown so much this year. She has been incredibly helpful to her teachers and classmates. A student recently dropped his binder with many papers falling to the floor. Emilee was standing nearby and stopped to help him. Mrs. Brumfield notes that she is so proud of how much she has matured this year!

BIG SMILES VISIT
Big Smiles is scheduled to be at Wurtland Middle School on May 21 to see Wurtland Elementary School and Wurtland Middle School students. If you would like to have your child examined by the dentist, please register using the listed links. Paper forms are also available.

Bryce Music recently completed his manager's project for Industrial Arts. He worked incredibly hard to make a display case for his Martin guitar, and we are impressed by the final results! Great work, Bryce!

Mrs. Ciera Vanover shares that this group of students created a podcast entitled "Small Town Talk" for Digital Media and truly knocked it out of the park! She notes that the podcast is funny, engaging, and informative. She adds that it is a podcast to which she would happily subscribe.

Mrs. Mary Logsdon shares that Dakota has been a great student to have in class. He has made tremendous academic growth this school year on i-Ready and classwork. He has also be very helpful in including students in class that aren't always included, showing how kind-hearted he is.

Mrs. Mary Logsdon shares that Riley is always singing, dancing, and bringing an atmosphere of happiness to our classroom. She adds, "Not only that, he is the first to answer any questions and participate in classroom discussions. He is a joy to have in class!"

Mrs. Mary Logsdon shares that Joshua is a kind-hearted, caring young man who is always looking out for his peers. He is the first to support someone if he feels they need help. He has stated that he wants to be a policeman or resource officer when he grows up, so he can continue help other people.
