TELLING NEW STORIES
Mr. Doran’s class has been practicing alternative storytelling methods. They are working to create short stories in comic book or graphic novel forms. After the drafting stage, students will use a web-based computer program to digitally create their own comic-style stories. What an amazing way to learn new skills!








SIXTH-GRADE SCIENCE VOLCANO PRESENTATIONS
Students in Mr. Haywood's science classes recently completed volcano research projects and presentations. Students researched the most active volcanoes on the planet. These presentations were EXPLOSIVE! 🌋

GREENUP COUNTY AREA TECHNOLOGY CENTER AMP UP CAREER CAMP
The Greenup County Area Technology Center's AMP UP Career Camp is being held between June 3 and June 5 from 9 a.m. to noon. They will have the chance to experience the following programs: business, health sciences, welding, automotive, and electricity.

A bus will pick up students at 8:40 a.m. at Wurtland Middle School. A bus will also pick up students at the close of each camp day at noon to return them to Wurtland Middle School. The camp is open to incoming seventh-grade and eighth-grade students.

SEVENTH-GRADE ELA
Last week, students in seventh-grade language arts spent time working in literacy centers. Students spent time reviewing concepts and applying their knowledge of text features. Great work, Wildcats!
