Mrs. Fraley’s science classes used chocolate chip cookies to complete an activity to model the effects of mining. They completed an analysis sheet to explain how habitats and landscapes were changed.

Thank you Hilltop Show Swine for coming out and showing off your pigs! Charlee McGinnis and her sister AngelRae Bates who was a former bulldog, did a wonderful job showing our students what all show pigs do.

We would like to thank Jezz Bonzo for coming out and talking with our students about bees! We are hoping to add more bees this year to the two hives we already have!

Mrs. Fraley’s 3rd term CTE Human Anatomy students completed their culminating activity today. Students completed fetal pig dissections and were required to correctly name ten parts of the anatomy. They did an excellent job!

This week we launched our Bulldog Brew Coffee Cart, and it was a huge success! Our students did an outstanding job preparing and serving coffee to staff while building valuable communication and workplace skills.
Programs like Bulldog Brew give students real-world experiences while spreading a little extra positivity around the building.

We are proud to share that four McKell Middle School Beta Club members will be advancing to the National Beta Convention after placing at the state level competition! This is a tremendous accomplishment and a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and leadership these students demonstrate every day.

This week is Read Across the America Week! In celebration we are having a hat day Wednesday March 4!

This is McKell Middles first year competing in Mathcounts Competition! We had one team and many students compete solo. Our very own Heinrick Bentz placed 1st in the individual student competition!! Another amazing thing for McKell Middle School and the achievements of our students !!

Three of our students (Kadence Wheeler, Kaylee Yelley, and Ellie Collier), came up with the idea to create personal hygiene bags for students. They created 155 bags and donated them to both Mckell Middle School FRYSC and Greenup County High School FRYSC. What amazing community service and dedication to help out their fellow students.
