EIGHTH-GRADE SPOTLIGHT: CAITLYN FIELDS
Before this week's promotion ceremony, we're celebrating our eighth-grade students!
Mrs. Christina Dornon shares that Caitlyn is smart and a hard worker. She is always in a good mood, always polite, and always smiling!

EIGHTH-GRADE SPOTLIGHT: MEADOW SPEARS
Before this week's promotion ceremony, we're celebrating our eighth-grade students!
Ms. Katie Williams shares that Meadow has had a great year. Meadow is a great volleyball player and an incredibly valuable member of the EdRising class. She is fun, patient, and kind. Our little friends at Wurtland Elementary School love her, and she is a trusted and responsible resource for teachers when we visit the elementary school.

EIGHTH-GRADE SPOTLIGHT: BENNIE GEHRINGER
Before this week's promotion ceremony, we're celebrating our eighth-grade students!
Ms. Katie Williams shares that Bennie is everything to everyone! Bennie is a leader in shop class and can build and make anything. He is naturally creative and a problem solver. He is an expert in all things "birds" and has taken on the role of Ms. Bowling's Head Chicken Tender for our new flock. He is fun and patient with the little kids we work with in EdRising, and they love him. This year, he jumped in and helped build, create, and set up for many of our special events. He also was quite successful with our brand new Slot Car Racing Team for the Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP). He worked to build and enhance his car, helped set up the track, and won the fastest time at the state STLP competition.
Mrs. Dornon shares that Bennie is always helpful and always has a smile on his face. He's the first to make her laugh, and she shares that she can go to him with any dog question.
We're proud of this Wildcat and look forward to watching him grow!


EIGHTH-GRADE SPOTLIGHT: KAITLYNN CLARK
Before this week's promotion ceremony, we're celebrating our eighth-grade students!
Ms. Katie Williams shares that Kaitlynn has had such a great year. She is so fun and funny! She never has a hair out of place, as she always keeps a hairbrush in-hand. She was a wonderful member of our cheerleading squad. In EdRising, she was so attentive and kind when working with our elementary school friends!

Mr. Mike DuDomaine shares that Chase is a very hard worker who always wants to excel and do more than what is needed. He's always willing to help anyone who is struggling!

Ms. Melissa Travis shares that she will miss Hailey. Each day, Hailey stops by to see Ms. Travis and to say "hello". She always takes the time to check on one of her favorite teachers!

EIGHTH-GRADE SPOTLIGHT: ALEXANDER BROWN
Before next week's promotion ceremony, we're celebrating our eighth-grade students!
Ms. Katie Williams shares that Alex is insanely intelligent and incredible witty! This year, he was a state semi-finalist in the Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) for 3-D design using the TinkerCad program. In addition, he stepped into another challenge and was a co-pilot for our drone team.

Mrs. Bobbi Brumfield shares that Jaxon has a great sense of humor and knows how to make everyone smile!

Mrs. Miruka Williams shares that Brookelyn is polite to all of her classmates and staff. She is always willing to help others and is such a positive influence in the classroom.

Mrs. Bobbi Brumfield shares that Wyatt has been a very helpful student this year. Regardless of the task, he is ALWAYS willing to help his classmates or teachers!

Mrs. Baleigh Long shares that Jaxon always says "hello" in the hallway and asks about her day. He always brings laughter to her drama class, and she shares that she's loved having him the last two years. She notes that drama class will not be the same without him when he moves to high school!

Mrs. Bobbi Brumfield shares that Brandon gave 110 percent effort in class this year! He also had a smile and a "hello" for everyone each day throughout the entire school year.

Ms. Katie Williams shares that Mason is an absolute gentleman. He is funny, creative, and intelligent. This year, he tried some new activities and was our drone pilot for our Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP). Ms. Williams notes that they had many laughs along the way.

Mr. Michael DuDomaine shares that Raelynn is a very intelligent and driven individual. She enjoys challenges and wants to master whatever task is given to her. She has the grit that is needed to overcome any obstacle, a great quality to have!

Mrs. Baleigh Long shares that Riley has risen to the challenge of being a member of the drama class, and she has improved tremendously. She goes to class with lots of energy and is always ready to practice!

"I VOTED" STICKER DESIGN
Students in Mr. Yancey's classes have been working hard to design new voting stickers. Andrew Imel, the Greenup County Clerk, chose Jaxon Rice's design as the winner of the competition, and Greenup Countians will be receiving these stickers the next time polls are open!
Wurtland Middle School students chose Rylen Picklesimer's design, featuring the Commonwealth's state bird, as the school-wide winner.
We are so incredibly proud of our students and their work! What's more? Our students are learning about civic responsibility at an incredibly young age, preparing them to make meaningful contributions as adults.

Mrs. Long shares that Bonnie is the type of student who genuinely cares about others. She'll stop and ask about one's day without being prompted. She'll help other students who are in need. She'll take a leadership role when asked. She's a great kid!

FIFTH-GRADE VISITORS
On Wednesday, fifth-grade visitors from Wurtland Elementary and Argillite Elementary learned ALL ABOUT sixth grade. They visited our new chicken coop, Industrial Arts, and even spent time in the fitness center. We can't wait to welcome these new Wildcats!
