IMPORTANT UPDATE
This afternoon (9.8.23), school administration received reports of possible threats being made on the school's campus. After thorough questioning, administrators learned that the individual in question was not present on the school's campus at the time the report was received. All proper safety protocols are being closely followed and cautionary preventative measures are in place. There is no threat at this time; however, as an extra safety precaution, district law enforcement will be on the Wurtland Middle School campus on Monday.
SIXTH-GRADE MATHEMATICS
Students in Mrs. Vanover's sixth-grade mathematics class spent time working on adding and subtracting numbers with decimals today. Students had stations and were tasked with creating lunches for the entire week with a budget of $20.00. Each station got a little more difficult as the prices got higher. We love to see our Wildcats having fun while learning!
SEVENTH-GRADE SCIENCE
Students in Mr. Bowling's seventh-grade science classes have been reviewing how the spacing of atoms determines if a substance is a solid, liquid, or gas and the effects of thermal energy on atom spacing.

HIGH ATTENDANCE WEEK CELEBRATIONS (SEPT. 11 - 15)
Next week, High Attendance Week will be magical at Wurtland Middle School. We'll be celebrating with inspiration from all of our favorite Disney characters. Plan to dress for your favorite themes, earn some special treats, and be at school during Wednesday's High Attendance Day to earn a reward for the ENTIRE SCHOOL.

Please observe that our school buses will observe a new traffic pattern in the mornings. The only permissible lane for morning drop-off is noted.

UPDATED MEDICAL DOCUMENTATION
Please make sure all medical documentation is up-to-date for your child before the new school year begins, especially for those students who will be entering sixth grade. KDMC will be on-site during our back-to-school bash on August 17 for physicals and sports physicals. In addition, you may also reach out to our school nurse, Tara Adams, with any questions, the obtaining of forms, or the completion of documentation. This documentation is preferably requested before the first day of school.
