Our Industrial Arts students are at it again! Look at this new bench design. Students made two for our main entrance. What’s more? They assembled one bench in about 20 minutes. Can you say SKILLS?

TRI-STATE HONORS BAND
Congratulations to Trista Gilbert, Lexie French, Caitlyn Fields, Taylynn Forbes, Alexis Bowling, Kimmie Cox, Jaxon Shackelford, Shawn Johnson, Bonnie Baldridge, and Serenity Clifton! These students were selected to perform in the Morehead State University Tri-State Honors Band. On November 12, they will practice and later perform with students from multiple states. Great work, students!


ALL-DISTRICT HONORS ORCHESTRA
Congratulations to Gabe Brown, Jace Gillum, Tristan Greene, Annie Lyon, Taylynn Forbes, and Alexis Bowling! These students will travel to Morehead State University on November 3. Throughout the day students will practice, performing for an audience later that evening. Great job, students!

ALL WE DO IS WIN!
Congratulations to Jaysea Howard, Raelynn Ream, and Ella Carr! They guessed the correct number of gummy worms in the container that Ms. Johnson has had on display during this week’s book fair. Ms. Johnson rewarded all of them with special prizes. Great guesses!


COLLEAGUE CREDIT
Mr. Scott Bowling shares that Ms. Williams is always a huge help to the Industrial Arts program! From pretty handwriting in chalk on a recent project to securing metal plaques for sales pieces, Ms. Williams is the best! Thank you, Ms. Williams!


WILDCAT OF THE WEEK
Mr. Scott Bowling shares that Mark is always a leader in Industrial Arts! He is always on-hand to help put away tools and clean the shop each day. Mr. Bowling is truly appreciate of Mark's help! Way to be a leader, Mark!

STRAWBERRIES, BABY!
Today, agriculture students, under the supervision of Ms. Melissa Travis, spent time transplanting strawberries. We’re excited to watch these babies spring to life in our agriculture lab.

OPEN HOUSE
We want to thank everyone who joined us for Open House last night. With a total attendance of 310, we had a fun-filled evening that allowed for the showcasing of our students and their boundless talents.

We’re starting Safe Schools Week with a visit from Supervisory Senior Resident Agent Jeremy Wright of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He’s talking with students about safe and responsible internet behaviors. Thank you, Agent Wright!


INDUSTRIAL ARTS SALES ARE OPEN!
Industrial arts sales are open! All purchases help our program with tools and lumber purchases. This year we are offering flower boxes for $60, hanging plant stands for $40, and our largest selling item from last year, our flowerpot benches, are selling for $200 this year. Products are available in a variety of colors, or we can use stain or paint! Please contact Scott Bowling for sales or questions.




If you’re wondering what’s been cooking in our kitchens, the answer is scrambled eggs! Students in Mrs. Shannon’s hospitality and tourism class spent time learning about and cooking an important breakfast staple last week. Great work, everyone!





WILDCAT OF THE WEEK Mr. Bowling shares that Kyle has been working very hard in science class. He is always ready to participate in class discussions and seems excited to learn. Way to go, Kyle!


COLLEAGUE CREDIT Mrs. Brumfield shares that Jennifer has jumped into the WMS family with ease and has become a vital team member. She helps anyone in any way possible, and the library is buzzing with the changes she has made. Mrs. Brumfield is glad she is a WMS Wildcat!


SUPER SPOOKY DOOR DECORATING COMPETITION
Congratulations to Mrs. Miruka Williams and her students! The door that she and her students designed is the winner of the competition. Mrs. Williams and her students will be treated to a pizza party. Great job, everyone!


VETERANS DAY PROGRAM
