Mr. Scott Bowling shares that, throughout the past week, McKennly has worked to paint various locations on the school's campus. In addition, she has also helped to lead a group of students who planted one dozen Red Bud trees across the school's exterior property.

Mrs. Angie Shannon shares that Annie recently stayed after class and helped to clean and straighten her classroom without being asked. Mrs. Shannon notes that Annie is both a kind and helpful student. Great job, Miss Annie!

Each week, our Career and Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Week will be represented by a student who is excelling in one of the classes that supports our CTE programs and hands-on learning experiences.
Mrs. Ciera Vanover shares that, while Kyland is new to Greenup County School of Innovation, she jumped in to help another student in digital media class without hesitation.

Each week, our Muskie of the Week will be a student in preschool through third grade. Much like the Musketeer of the Week, the Muskie of the Week shows kindness, displays leadership, and participates as part of a team.
This week, Ms. Lexie Carroll shares that Timothy has been such a leader in her classroom since the first day of school. He helps friends learn the routines, shows responsibility, and sets a great example for those around him. He deserves to be recognized for his leadership, which is especially impressive from a first grader! He consistently shows kindness and responsibility.

Each week, Musketeer of the Week will be represented by a student in fourth through eighth grades. A Musketeer of the Week is chosen for showing great character, doing small deeds with big impacts, or for displaying kindness.
This week, Mrs. Trish Steele shares that Carter went above and beyond to help her third-grade students up the stairs on their way to specials classes. She notes that Carter slowed other students, making sure all of the third-grade students safely reached the top of the stairs.

Sixth-grade student, Cheyanne Woods, placed third in the middle school division 3K at the Mason County Invitational. Cheyanne finished with a time of 14:26. She was running against many regional top runners in seventh and eighth grades from across the region.

SEPTEMBER'S INNOVATION THEME
Each month, we'll be sharing our building's Innovation Lab theme. Throughout the month of September, we'll be looking at energy and phases of matter in the Innovation Lab. We know our student's will love these learning opportunities!
The Innovation Lab opens Tuesday, and we are EXCITED!


Tomorrow morning, in celebration of the first day of school, we will have reserved parking along the front of our building for our kindergarten parents. Parents may walk students to the building and participate in a photo opportunity that will be available.
We look forward to seeing the smiling faces of each of our students tomorrow!

Taylor Boyer, Kindergarten - Second-Grade Learning and Behavior Disorders Teacher
"Hello! My name is Taylor Boyer, and I will be an elementary resource teacher this year at Greenup County School of Innovation. This is my fifth year of working in Greenup County Schools and my tenth year of being in the classroom. I look forward to building an environment that enhances my students' learning, independence, and success. I have been married to my husband, Justin, for nine years, and we have five cats. In my free time, I enjoy reading, spending time with friends and family, and exploring new places!"
Sarah Williams, Third - Fifth-Grades Learning and Behavior Disorders Teacher
"I am currently in my second year as a special education teacher, and I am excited for what the upcoming school year will bring. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and a Master's Degree in Special Education and General Education P - 5, giving me the tools to support students with diverse learning needs. A proud graduate of Greenup County High School in 2011, I've always valued the importance of community and education. Beyond the classroom, I cherish spending quality time with my husband of nine years and our seven-year-old daughter. Family and friends are my greatest support system, and I'm eager to continue making a positive impact in the lives of my students while growing alongside my own family. "I'm entering my twelfth year as a special education teacher and am excited for a great school year at Greenup County School of Innovation! I originally earned my Bachelor's Degree in accounting, but I found my true calling in education, later earning a Master's Degree in Special Education. Outside of the classroom, I love spending time with family - especially my husband and our two dogs, Summer and Otis. Some of my favorite ways to unwind include sitting by the water with a good book, going on long walks, mowing grass, and planting flowers. Teaching continues to be a passion, and I'm looking forward to all the growth and learning this year will bring!"
Stefanie Tucker, Middle Grades Learning and Behavior Disorders Teacher
"Hi! I’m Stefanie Tucker, and I’ve been teaching in Greenup County for 15 years. I have a Master’s Degree in Learning and Behavior Disorders, and I love helping students grow and learn in ways that work best for them. I’ve been married to my husband Jason for 27 years, and we have two grown sons, Sean and Dylan. These days, some of my favorite moments are spent with my grandsons, Owen and Collin."

Mrs. Vanover is beginning her fifth year of teaching in Greenup County Schools. She treats her students with love and consistently interjects fun and excitement into her classroom. Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Vanover loves spending time with her husband, daughter, and son. She is often found traveling to sporting events. In her free time, she enjoys reading. We're proud to have Mrs. Vanover on our team!

"Hi! My name is Lexie Carroll. I'm an alumna of Greenup County and heading into my second year of working in special education. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood P - 5 and Special Education K - 12 from Wittenberg University. I also have a Master's Degree as a Literacy Specialist. I'm so stoked to be part of the Greenup County School of Innovation and to help build something new, creative, and truly centered around students!"
