Ms. Katie Williams notes that Amber recently stopped to pick up an item that an older student had dropped during breakfast. She very carefully balanced her own tray to retrieve this item for someone else. Ms. Williams notes that she is proud of Amber for seeing a need, being brave enough to approach and help the older student, and handling her own materials so expertly all at once. That's a pretty big accomplishment for someone so little!
We are all very proud of this little Musketeer!

MUSKETEER OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Baleigh Long shares that, recently, as Katelyn walked into school from the morning pick-up line, she noticed a younger student crying, one who wasn't quite ready for the beginning of the school day. Without hesitation, Katelyn stopped to offer comfort and support. Thank you for being kind to others, Katelyn!
We are so proud of the compassion of our Musketeers!

PUPPET SHOW, ANYONE?
Our drama students have been working hard to bring magic to classrooms throughout the building. They recently created sock puppets and performed fairytales with unique twists for students of many ages.
We are so proud of the creativity of our students!

PUMP UP (AND TRANSFER) THE ENERGY
Recently, student's in Mr. Fyffe's fourth-grade class have been working to understand the concepts of energy and energy transfer. During these lessons, students worked collaboratively to understand differences in stored energy, examining rubber band sizes and energy changes according to movements of the band on a ride model. The close of the lesson required students to consider how to build this ride in a true-to-life size.
We love to see our Musketeers engaged in hands-on learning experiences!

In honor of Veterans Day on November 11, all students, faculty, staff, and visitors are asked to wear red, white, and blue. Please help us to celebrate our nation's heroes!

ON THE DEFENSE
Recently, students in Mr. Doran's class have been learning about positive defense mechanisms that they can use when feeling anxious, attacked, accused, or even angry. Under Mr. Doran's guidance, students made a list of techniques to manage their feelings that do not hurt others. These techniques are also designed to help students avoid trouble. The class then designed shields to use as defense mechanisms, adding their personal favorite options onto the shields themselves.
Upon completion, students affixed the shields to foam boards, providing a physical reminder of the positive ways they can deal with uncomfortable situations.

We would like to invite ALL local veterans and active military personnel to join us for our annual Breakfast with a Veteran event. Whether related to a student or a community member, we would love the opportunity to recognize your service on this special day.
Please make plans to join us for breakfast at 8:15 a.m. on November 11, 2025.

It's another favorite unit in Mrs. Dornon's Health Sciences class. Students have been working through their athletic training unit, learning how to properly tape ankles and wrists, amongst other skills.
These students are almost ready to take their skills to the sidelines. Great work, Musketeers!

Please help us encourage students to participate during an extra spooky Red Ribbon Week!

We are so appreciative of everyone who contributed candy for this year's candy drive! All collected items will be distributed during next week's Storybook Trunk-or-Treat event and during the pre-school trick-or-treat that will occur throughout the building on Thursday.
This competition has been sweet, and we would like to congratulate Mrs. Robinson's fifth-grade class! These students collected a spooky 10,200 pieces of candy and will soon to be treated to a pizza party.
Great teamwork, Musketeers!

Mrs. Baleigh Long shares that Brooklyn has recently found a book she cannot seem to put down, noting that Brooklyn dives right into her reading during Book Club. She shares that Brooklyn grabs her book and logs into Beanstack as soon as she walks into the room. She just can’t get enough!
READERS ARE LEADERS AT GREENUP COUNTY SCHOOL OF INNOVATION!

Ms. Katie Williams shares Kyland does a fantastic job in EdRising! She is new to our program for future teachers, but she has jumped right in to each challenge. She is friendly and outgoing and makes kids feel welcome and comfortable. We are glad to have her as part of our school and our EdRising class!
Way to be a leader, Kyland!

Mrs. Keisha Roberts shares that Xavier recently went out of his way during library and counseling classes to help his classmates log into their ChromeBooks, find books, and clean the library. He showed exceptional leadership abilities and was an amazing friend!
Way to go, Xavier! We are so incredibly proud of this little Musketeer!

Mrs. Renee White shares that an elementary student was recently having a very difficult time transitioning in the hallway. Scooby, along with his handler, Bradie, happened to walk down the hallway where this student was hiding under a bench to avoid going back to class. Scooby and Bradie offered to walk the student to class. Scooby gave the student a friendly nudge, and the student came out from under the bench, returning to class under the careful (and cuddly) watch of Scooby. Mrs. White shares that Scooby has been a great addition at Greenup County School of Innovation!
Everyone, please put your paws together for Scooby!

Principal Brandi Litteral shares that she recently observed Levi picking up trash in the cafeteria after lunch. Levi did so without any prompting. He just wanted to help and be kind.
Great work, Levi! We are so proud of you!
